I can read through bad grammar no problem. I just couldn't understand if he was bashing or praising. It could go either way.

Sasha,
Pay no attention to those two guys, attempting to be clever, they're not. I for one, had no problem understanding what you convey.

Good on you supporting American owned businesses here!

I hope you make an engine choice soon, actually both the 5.0 and 3.5 are excellent in their own right.

In the "olden" days it was Ford or Dodge for a real work truck, and GM for a Cadillac ride truck. Ram has the Cadillac ride today with the coil spring rear.

My personal opinion is there is nothing wrong with the GM interiors, but the exterior is pretty bad. The GM 6.2 is a torque monster. The 5.3 lifter issues are blown out of proportion and if you are concerned about it you can turn the AFM off with a Range device, just like you would have to do with a Coyote. Ford offers the absolute most versatility in engine choice but a "stiffer" rear suspension, at least for the 2015-2018 model years. Buy what you like; they are all decent choices. Except the gas hog 2007 technology Tundra, which is supposedly finally being brought up to date.

I agree with the "cut the guy whose native language is obviously not English some slack comments". How many of you could even attempt to speak a foreign language, much less write it intelligently?

Eh I think the AT4 is one of the best looking trucks out there, it’s the Silverado that’s a mess. I don’t think the lifter and bent rod is blown out of proportion because it goes hand in hand with their declining quality overall.

Just an FYI, your "Ram" is made by a foreign company (FCA ring a bell?). They havent been an American company for decades.

Kudos to Sash77 for his desire to buy American. He doesn't deserve a hard time.

Sash77, on your choice, they are all good trucks. I've had very good luck with GM cars and trucks, so I was initially looking at a Denali diesel. I like the way it looks and drives, and I think the build quality is definitely a notch above Ford, inside and out. I didn't really consider Ram, and maybe I should have. The interiors are nice but I've heard so many horror stories about the quality, and now being part of the Fiat group doesn't improve my confidence. The reasons I went with Ford are: (1) Powerboost. It's hard to beat, and (2) technology and electronics, including the digital dash, big screen, and self driving. I am happy with my choice so far and haven't had any major problems to date. If I were looking now, *and* I could be sure the early '22 Denalis would have the updated interior and tech (word is they won't until late 22), I would consider one. But that still doesn't solve for the Powerboost. So I say go with the Ford.

If anyone tells you one of the big 3 brands is above another in quality, they’re blowing smoke. The big 3 have interchangeable faults and praises with quality, it comes down to looks and features and how it drives according to you. Pick the trim and engine combo and drive it and don’t look up user stories.

Its Stellantis now as they purchased FCA, but same thing as they are based out of the Netherlands.

I always find the "American made" or "buy local rather than at Walmart" arguments interesting, as we have a lot of hard working American's living in America and working in America assembling "foreign" vehicles. Buying those products still supports American jobs. And buying from Walmart vs. the "locally owned" store still supports jobs of people that live in the community.

It's because people are looking very narrow minded and not broadly. They see "FoReiGn ProFiTs." Instead of the American parts supplier, assembler, inspector, transporter to port, options installer, transporter to dealer, the porter to prep the car, the person to sell the car, the team to service the car, the team to answer your customer care questions, etc. I'd rather be happy that a lot of people were provided for on one car purchase than a few thousand in profit going to a multinational company. The Tundra is the most American made vehicle but they're not ready for that conversation.

Same argument for the self-checkouts.....

Default Don't forget lifter/cam issues on the 5.7L Rams

I have been doing a ton of research while I'm shopping for a new truck. Local Ram dealer has offered me a pretty good deal on a RAM but after researching them I am a little nervous about moving forward with it. Lots of reports of 5.7L engines eating cams and lifters with not a lot of miles on them.
