I finally got to see a new 2021 F150 XLT today. A customer of mine who had owned many fords over the years bought a new Toyota pickup a few years ago. He went in search of a new Toyota back in February and with nothing on the lots hes been waiting and waiting. He and his wife are driving to Yellowstone in July so he was getting nervous waiting for a toyota to show up. So he went ford shopping. Finally found a F150 XLT , a matalic green color at Prime Ford in Saco. He made the trade and off he went. A beautiful truck. Unforuntaly it has the 2.7 L , I never mentioned it to him but of course the 3.5 or the V8 is more sort after. (my opipion of course)
4 head lights , I looked close I couldn't tell if they were halogen or LED. Rear bed plug in , factory liner. Of course HUGE computer screen.
I saw a google story a few weeks ago showing the Kentucky speedway. As far as you could see Ford pickups waiting for computer chips.

Where I live, the 2.7 is much more sought after than the V8. The ecoboosts are both great sellers, but there are V8s that have been on the lots for months.

Ordered my Lariat Sport 2.7 in late March with August delivery and still no confirmed delivery date. Geez, the 2022s will be available before I get my '21.

Yeah I don't get the 2.7L being a problem, the 2.7L rocks. It will take down the 5.0L and 3.5L TT in 0-60 in the last gen, it gets great mileage, and it has a graphite iron block instead of aluminum so the thing can take a lot of punishment. 2.7L TT is, IMO, the best engine in the F-150 before the 3.5L PB was released. It's just a fantastic all-arounder. All the engines are great, and have strengths that outweigh the others in certain areas.

2021 Ford F-150 Engine Options: 2.7L EcoBoost® vs. 3.5L (imlaycityfordsales.com)

Well to each his own I guess. I'm only not buying the 2.7 for me not for everyone else here. Myself I chose the V8 for several reasons and I've found throughout my life and owning trucks I've never said I wish I had less power.
Again the 2021 a very nice generation. But it also has to stink waiting I'm sure.

The 2.7 has similar torque, and it makes it at lower rpm than the V8, so it has more usable torque.

The 5.0 became less desirable to me in 2021 in it's first year with cylinder deactivation.

Nothing wrong with saving trees Nassty. I didn't know the 21 had cyl deactavation. That must get 30 mpg.
