Automatic updates option not available?

Automatic updates option not available?
I have a 21 F150 lariat, full load including blue cruise option added. For months now I have not had the ability to even turn on the auto updates button. Its there but its grey and I can't select it. Also when looking to see what version of Sync I have the line for version number and revision are blank. I know this is or has been an ongoing issue but has anyone found any answers anywhere yet?

You are most likely stuck in update limbo. Please provide me your VIN and I may be able to provide some insight. The entire thread below is dedicated to 2021 owners who have had issues with updates.
