Good info.

I have no additional suggestion. I can't think of any other reasons why the headlights would light up just be switching on accessory mode.

That headlight switch moving from off to auto every time I started the truck which is in the garage, turned on the headlights for nothing. Backed out of garage and daylight shut off the headlights. A waste of the headlights. I was happy when it was published in Forscan that is could be disabled. Switch now stays where I leave it.

THanks!
@mal01

There is a simple setting you can change in the BCM so that the headlight switch memorizes last known position upon each ignition cycle. It was one of the first changes I made in my truck.

Set this parameter in the BCM with ForScan or some other software.

726-74-01 xx01 xxxx xxxx

This ensures that when you manually turn your lights off (such as when you park) they will never automatically come back on in auto mode.

The good news is your headlight fluid won't be drained by turning on for 10 extra seconds

I don't use remote start because 1) it drains my FOB battery and 2) it's 2 wasted button presses -FOBs and batteries are too expensive to be replacing due to excessive button pushing.

Sorry -just poking fun. Never heard anybody ever say that lights coming on were a waste of headlight use. I sort of chucked a little.

At least prior to this, OP was offered a resolution before I derailed it.

Well you have now! Chuckle all you want. it is still a senseless for the headlights to come on in the garage just to turn off when pull out of said garage.

Throw out all the sarcasm your want like some one else does on this site to almost everyone's post. Doesn't bother me any.

Thanks for the info, I haven't tackled FORscan yet, but hope to give it a shot soon.
