Default Auto day/night doesn't work

Does anyone else have the issue of the auto day/night option for the display not work properly? Mine will often turn on night mode during the day and just remain dark until I manually switch it back. Am I missing an adjustment or something somewhere?

Is the light sensor in the middle of the dash near the base of the windshield free of obstructions or do the newer trucks use a different setup?

I believe that OTA software updates can disable the auto switching between Brights/Full and Dim/Normal . A quick flip of the switch fixes that.

Daytime "erroneous" switching can be triggered by bridges, heavy tree cover etc.

My switching and dimming has nothing ro do with clouds, trees, or bridges. If it is on auto headlights, in broad daylight it goes to night setting and turns on the headlights. I have to turn it off auto when I start the truck each time. It is a 2025. I was also lucky to have my engine seize at 138 miles. 5.0 Coyote. A valve dropped into the cylinder.

Sounds like a programming issue. Sucks to hear about your 5.0. There has been very little problems with the 5.0. Do you know if it was a valve on a cylinder with deactivation? Just curious.

Very little info from the dealer. The notes in maintenance records just say a valve fell into cylinder number three.

Had that happen once when my battery was giving up the ghost on my 22. Put new battery in and has been fine since.
Edit, the bad battery was the auto high beams. I had problems with the day night also, headlights were coming on and not shutting off in the day time, That ended up being the body control module. Luckily that happened a month before my warranty ran out. Wasn't cheap, it actually stopped my horn from working also.

Mine will go dark during the day. I can switch it to day mode but the brightness won't increase above zero, (-5 to +5 scale). I can't increase brightness.
