Audio from CDs
At the end of March 2023 I got a new F150 Platinum. I also have a number of special CDs from my previous 2018 King Ranch. Is there any way that I can transfer or play the music from those CDs in the new truck? In the 5 months that I've had the new truck (which unfortunately has no CD player) I have tried plugging a portable CD player into the USB jack (didn't work) and copying the files from the CD to a USB (also didn't work). I am thinking that no doubt many of you have figured this out, and I need help
Alternatively, I am sure that very modern people don't use CDs any more, so what is the up-to-date way to play famous but earlier music, e.g., Beethoven ?

I’m no audiophile, but I’m under the impression that CD’s compress music files and detail is lost. The MP3 format is even worse than CD’s.
How many songs are you talking about? If the music is important to you, I would recommend buying the lossless digital files from a music service.
Alternately, the cheapest way to go is to buy an FM transmitter and use a portable CD player. Tune your truck radio to the transmitter frequency and rock on my friend.

Not up any year past 2019. But CD files need conversion to MP3 to play on a thumb USB drive. I use USB thumb drives in my wifes 2016 Edge, my 2017 F150 XL, and son's 2019 F150 XLT. These all have a max size limit for the USB of 32 GB, they will not play a larger drive. KM

Most CD files are in .wav, an uncompressed 16 bit 44.1khz and often only playable on a CD player. The Sync Ford is using cannot read these now, so they have to be converted to MP3 or similar compatible format, CD to CD is often called burning, CD to MP3 is called ripping. The compression of MP3 files can be adjusted when ripping and using high quality the sound is hardly distinguished from lossless in a moving vehicle.
The Sync used in Fords has a number of peculiarities, drive size is one another is that simple format of drives like a USB in a WIN computer, does not erase the deleted file, and it is will still play in SYNC 3 and 3.1 for sure per my own use. KM
