Default Attack of the trash panda....

Trash panda ran out in front of me when I was doing 55 mph this morning. I am not really liking these deployable air dams very much..... How much do you all think this is going to cost me?

I think it depends if you want the air dam replaced or not. If not, there are threads on here, I am 99% sure, on how to remove it and I think disable any codes that may be thrown by it being disconnected. You lose some amount of mileage efficiency, but I don't think it's enough to be sad about if you would otherwise have a hefty bill.

$0 deductible comprehensive for me, so it would be zero cost.

Sucks, but more reason why I will be removing mine and trimming valence as soon as I pick up my truck. May lose .5 mpg, but it will also look much better

I live in a rural area and these critters are everywhere. On my 2018 I could just send it through the center of the truck with no adverse effects but now anywhere under the truck it will damage this thing. We have critters dead all over the roads and I have tor worry about how I am going to miss them in the road. I understand the reason for them but if it is to expensive to repair I am just going to ask the dealer to remove the thing.

I agree, the roads here suck as well and I'm used to just riding over the top of road debris without any concern for damaging my truck. With this air dam, I think I would forget and end up doing my truck more harm than not.

eta: here’s a pic from another forum of a guy who disconnected his air damn motor, removed it, and trimmed valence.

My kamakazee daughter recently tapped another vehicle in the rear with my 2020 F150 STX. I was bowled over to find a OEM painted bumper with slots for fog lamps is $850--unpainted. And the metal is very thin--only 23 lbs. in weight.

I ordered an aftermarket front bumper for $404 online. And I went online to order custom matched spray paint and the clear coat--total $100.

I'm going to do the replacement later today. I'm amazed that manufacturers have so many parts on bumpers--most of which are attached from the underside. And there's also a wiring harness attached to it for the fog lamps.

She also ran into something with my new Toyota Venza. It tore the plastic plates and pieces under the bumper--$700 in parts alone. I had to disassemble the entire front end to get to the backside to attach plastic parts with push pins.

Whatever happened to just having a bumper with 4 bolts hanging it to the frame--and a cost of $200 or so?

That is... perfect. Who's truck is that? Looks like a small lift was added and I like those tires.

Not sure the name but pulled from another site. He just has a level with those 34" ridge grapplers if i remember correctly. Trimming that valence gives the front end a higher look.
