Right now only BMW has announced support. Maybe down the road there will be support if Ford signs up for the program.

From my understanding Ford was on the list of working with Apple on this at the WWDC if I remember correctly. I guess just a matter of time if we see it in this version or next

Ford already has this functionality available in Lincoln vehicles through the "Lincoln Way" app, which is the Lincoln version Ford Pass.

So far it doesn't look like the F150 is getting it for 2021, but it could in the future.

That the same as the current F150 with the app. It’s not the phone as a key. You still need a fob to start the car to drive.

The Apple key uses the NFC chip in the phone. No app is needed. Basically a car key is in your wallet app and is used to unlock the car and allow it to be started.

Another Apple only app that all the Apple users can feel good about and say "look at me". Look at me. Im special " While the rest of the world uses apps that work for 100% of the population.

The current Lincoln iteration uses BLE within the app. The Apple Key spec is NFC and UWB. I bet we’ll eventually get that in ‘22 or ‘23, but it is different hardware than the proximity antennas the fobs use or Bluetooth.

Current PAAK does something with the Remote Function Actuator module. I was able to enable the menus on my 15, but it threw a persistent DTC for the RFA module.

I have a feeling they will add it in. If not immediately on launch, then with a software update, since Sync4 can to OTA.
