Are you all sure your phone is hot because it is using AA or is it because the phone is being used continually?

An experiment would be to set your destination for your phone maps to navigate you and see if it is warm an hour later (not tied to your vehicle). Turn on your favorite music app as well and just put the phone aside for the hour. Test #2 -can you put your phone aside for 1 hour. haha
I stopped using AA for a while. I have been using Nav on my phone screen with music streaming over Bluetooth. I can do that for hours no issue, the phone get a little warm but not as bad as using AA for 5 min. although this can't be a permanent soliton, I didn't buy a truck with a large screen just to end up using my phone like an old corolla lol.

Using a quality USB-C cable also gets the phone hot. My phone didn't get hot when I switched over to cheap USB-A cable.

My new truck will have wireless charger that goes up to 5W, I believe, so it won't get hot. However, it may lose power if I keep using AA since the AA uses more than 5W.
this seems like a good idea I will give it a try

where kind of in between right now, AA or Sync? We have a new 2022 f150. We used the navigation 1 time and it told us to turn at roads that don't exist.. So on our next trip will try the nav with AA as backup. I have used AA in my other car with no heating problems

AA does a better job routing around traffic tie ups and construction than sync when initially setting the route. Sync will reroute during a trip to avoid traffic congestion. My phone (Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra) is in my pocket when driving and when using Google maps it gets warm. I put it on the wireless charger when running to Port Clinton Ohio and when I got there, the phone was really warm. I was pro-sync up until the past couple of months and now I prefer using AA
