Default Android Auto REconnect

Has anyone figured out how to get android auto to reconnect automatically after returning to the truck while it's running? I often leave the truck running while I stop in my local bodega to grab a sandwich and every time I get back in I have to go to 'Phone List' and reconnect android auto. Bluetooth will automatically connect, but not Android Auto.

My 2023 XLT has a bad implementation of Android Auto While driving it will disconnect, and instruct to use cable. I do that and it still does not work. Most of the time it works, it just stops working in the most inopportune times it seems.

That sucks. I hope you figure it out. My Android Auto has worked flawlessly since day one (Pixel 7P).

My issue is different though. It disconnects when you walk away but doesn't reconnect when you are back in range. I don't know if there's a setting that can change this, or if it's just the way it is.

I don't think that it will auto reconnect, which is a little annoying, however if you go into the phone settings there is a button to reconnect Android Auto you can press.

If you go to mobile apps, then android auto, then click the little AA button that usually works for me.

Ironically, if i want to disconnect from AA to connect to a wifi nearby or my dashcam, it will fight be to the absolute death, but if it disconnects on its own you have to move mountains to get it connected back.

Yep. Theres a few different ways to get it to reconnect but it is always several taps away. Super annoying and happens to me almost daily. Start the truck and go back inside to get your coffee that you left on the counter? You have to reconnect. Run into the store for a second? Reconnect. Drop off lunch for the wife? Reconnect.

Yea wireless AA sucks ford is a S$#$#%$ show with AA or Snapple Car Play. I have to reboot the system (Truck) every once in a while. Wife's Rav4 Hybrid XSE with the 10.5in screen is perfect never any issues. I wish ford would get with the program with the APIM software. This issue happen in my 2015 F150 Lariat 502a, 2023 Ranger Lariat Tremor, and the 2022 F150 Lariat 502a. Ford please fix !!!

It's not your phone... LOL

I don't know what update it was that was done a few months ago, but since then AA has been flaky for me and will disconnect after a while saying the wireless connection failed and won't reconnect until the truck is restarted or I do a soft reset (hold power and Fast Forward >>) of Sync. I know it's not my phone since I never have to mess with my phone for it to work again with either of those methods. It was rock solid on 12 hour trips pre whatever update Ford pushed.

My experience has been just the opposite. I used to have the phone dropped after only a minute or two. I got into the habit of simply rebooting the head. Now I've gone months with no issue of dropped connections. Weird beasts, these trucks are.
