my question is, is there a negative wire I can tap into for when the doors are open and closed to activate the boards? I am wondering which wires are on the odb2 connector that would activate the boards that AMP was using by the adapter, so I could possibly eliminate that adapter all together.

thank you very much for your help.
any luck getting them hooked up?

no I had to return them and get the boards for 2021. The new boards had a few extra wires compared to the previous gen F150s.

Sorry I saw your thread too late, I installed my Amp boards from my traded 2016 Lariat on my Tremor. Had to order the different OBD2 plug for the 2021 and newer F150, only difference. It was $110 shipped.

I called AMP, they told me only difference is the OBD2 connector, I think there is only 1 extra wire to hook up. Amp gave me a website to order the updated OBD2 connector.

Default Amp power steps

Sorry don't have the website now. Call Amp, You can get the info you need from Amp Research. They'll direct you to the website that sells replacement parts for Amp. Price seemed high for what the part is, if I'm recalling correctly it was about $100. Also pay close attention to the extra wire you select, don't remember the color but I believe there are 2 wires that are close to the same color

I am going through the same exact issue. Can you tell me where you ordered the plug from? I can’t find it anywhere
