Default Alarm

22 F150 xl Fx4 101A equipment group.
Got home from work, parked truck to get out and open my gate. Out of the corner of my eye truck flashed like I hit a button on the key fob .
Walked back over to truck to hook up the boat and key fob didn’t seem to work when I hit the open button a couple times. Pulled on door handle and it was locked. Put key fob in drivers side door lock and open door, alarm goes off. Put key in ignition and screen said alarm, press ok. Parking brake was on and didn’t want to go off until I pushed it three or four times. I don’t think i put partking brake on.
Any ideas what happened? Why would the alarm go off when I opened the door with the correct key?
Seems normal now but I’m going fishing tomorrow and dont need an odd problem at the lake lol

Using the key to unlock the truck will set off the alarm. I had some weird electrical stuff going on with my truck, dealer replaced battery in the fob, solved the issues for two weeks. I was out of state and called a local dealer and ask the service advisor if it sounded like my fob was bad. He said replace the battery with one from a auto parts store. Ford has a bunch of bad batteries. Bought a battery from O'reilly auto parts and solved the issue. I think the electronics will kill our trucks before we were out a major component.

I appreciate the input sir.
Dont know if it was a fluke or not.
I replaced the key fob battery, don’t know if it was bad but can’t hurt.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

I am having a similar problem with my truck. Started happening about a month ago. Took it to the local dealer and they could find nothing wrong. Going to try and take it back to them this week. Seems to be cold weather related, below 32 F. Not hopeful that they will be able to figure anything out.

Was your trailer hooked up? Or did you remove or unplug trailer with doors unlocked?

Have yet to use the trailer connections, so don’t think that is it.

So. I had it at the dealer this week. Based upon the alarms that were triggered they are replacing the interior sensor. The SA was not too confident that this would solve the issue, but at least it is a start.

So interior sensor replaced and the alarm triggered by itself again. At wits end with this issue. No way this should be happening on a 90K vehicle. My 2015 was much better….

Switched dealers to have a different opinion. They addressed a power train malfunction issue that I was having intermittently and replaced the Proximity sensor. It’s been a week so far and no alarm issues. Fingers crossed.
