Default Adding OEM bed lights to a '24

Anyone here with a '24 that you added the OEM wiring and button for the factory bed lights?
I've got all Forscan equipment and purchased the 2 required wire harnesses and button as well I watched a couple of videos. Straight forward easy install. After getting under the truck, it appears Ford has added a plastic plate, and either moved or removed the connector where the wire from the bed lights plug in. Anyone had any success

From what I researched, the easy plug and play/FORScan change available on the 15-23's (did it on my '16) ended with the '24. The harnesses changed, they eliminated the plugs/plug caps.

I went with a Starkey-style kit: https://www.ebay.com/itm/375734231209

Here is a similar install. Same kit, just less expensive.

I've installed the 15-20 kit into 2 of 12 2024 super dutys we're upfitting. Had to modify the harness because none of the connectors would work and wanted to keep the installation simple and no create any warranty issues. I removed all the wiring that was not bed light related and matched the OEM wiring colors according to the diagrams. I added two more pigtails to run the spot lights on the headache racks as per customer request. On the super duty the main connector is on the passenger side white in color thats for the taillight harness. I made the solder connections and 3m weatheredproof tape on the backside of the connector and ran the ground wire to the factory driver's side one all of this was put in wire loom and ran along the factory harness to appear oem. The alldata wiring diagram called the bed lights "work lights" so I had initially set the forscan changes to that and they didn't work. Reset it to bed lighting and all the lights including the led spots worked, I know I made another change to enable courtesy lights I think but can't remember would have to check my notes.

Ford has made many wiring changes along with having or not having the BED PACKAGE. So if you do not have a Bed Package optioned truck the wiring harness is also more than likely streamlined to be for only for a NON bed package truck. Bean counters 101 if not needed NOW do not include it for a future need.

I didn't want the goofy Pro Access tailgate, I would have liked the other bed features on my 501A Lariat. I've seen people install aftermarket light that lights up the whole bed, so I may go the route.

I'm with you. I just picked up my 502A last month, completely forgot about the whole bed package and different tailgate options. Ended up with everything I wanted except the upgraded tailgate or integrated lights, and a supercharger 😆

Thanks for everyone's input. I'm thinking of maybe cutting the factory connector off the 2 wiring harnesses and tapping them onto the backside of the trailer Hitch connector. There's 12v live there at all times.

My truck didnt even have the wiring or the plug in the harness to install the factory lights and activate in Forscan. So I did some research to figure out what aftermarket kit I could use as I wanted it to have a OEM like functionality and obviously be mounted in the factory locations.

The Starkey kit will do the job. But I wanted it to be switchable in the bed. I went with this kit off Amazon
Amazon Amazon

Works very well. The wiring takes a little while to run from the engine bay all the way back. I routed the wires mostly on top of the frame and along the route where factory wiring harness are.

I highly recommend this kit.
