Default Adding Hill Descent Control

Anyone have any idea what it would take to add hill descent control to a non FX4 2025 XLT 4x4? I'm guessing a module? and probably the dash switch and turning on in Forscan?

Not sure if it's as easy peasy on the newer trucks as it is on the 13th gens.

I'm betting no, heck that was posts dated back to 2016/17, and I scrolled quite a ways down. I had to add a trailer brake controller to my 25, and it wasn't just as simple as adding the switch and a couple enables in Forscan, had to swap the factory module out. Why a dealer would want a truck with backup assist and not a brake controller is beyond me, whether they ordered them that way or Ford provided them that way. Makes no sense to me.

I saw that, but the 24s and 25s are a little different, and I'm not sure it would work, but let me know how it goes, I may try it. I'll have to get on fordparts and look for the switch

Will do, If you have the 3 two switch units on your center console and has the chrome bezel of the button this is the part.

says fits 21-26 f150

Thanks. The 25 doesn't have the advance trac switch above the 12 inch screen, mine only has 1 button, I think it's park assist, haven't played with it yet.

I found the switch. Maybe this week I can get it installed (swapped in the dash) and try and enable in Forscan and see if it works without any other mods. I'll check back

Recommend reading how Hill Really works, first.
It's limitations, speed and control in those trucks that had it as part of the build option and uses the rear Brakes.
Do search for website ...CarDeeply.com. Guide to adding HDC TO F150.
.
Going back to 2018 XLT and my build option, there is no switch to turn it on or off. In the Owner Manual as such.
It is available when Ignition is turned on and functions mainly in Tow Hall shift mode with a 20 mph nonadjustable limit and uses engine Braking resistance and my foot on Brakes.
Real HDC uses the Brakes until they overheat.
Good luck.
