Adding fog lights has been discussed from time to time around here.
About a year ago I tried to install them 100% OEM and found out that just wasnt going to work. I added the factory harness, switch and turned things on via Forscan. Even the green light on the cluster came on but the fog lights themselves wouldnt come on. As it turns out, my BCM is missing some kind of fuse and I was not willing to change that.
Fast forward to now and I finally have gotten around to hooking up the fogs to the low beams. No wire cutting took place.
#1: Unplug the 4 wire plug. This plug only powers the low and high beams. One wire for lows, one for high, and two wires to ground.
#2: I obtained the appropriate connectors. Plugged in, I determined which wires went to low, high, and grounds. In this case, the red wire is low beams.
#3: Red wire connected as such. These type of wire connectors are my most preferred.
#4: Shrink tube over connection
#5: Finished harness. What I unplugged in the first picture gets plugged into this, and the other end plugs into the light housing with the other connector going to a fog light. This harness is too long, so the one I made for the other side is much shorter.
