Default Adaptive Steering

I ordered a Platinum on 6/14 and received an email from my salesman today " They just sent me an updated confirmation and informed us that the new trucks that does not have the adaptive steering option($1000.00) will be pushed back so that trucks with the option will be built first". Of course I am not going to let a $1,000 stand in the way. My question can Ford change the sales contract once it has been accepted?

I would say they are giving you the option to accept the offer or wait longer.

You can't change the build once it is entered. You would need to submit a new order with that option included.

What does OP mean by "adaptive steering"?

If I go in to configure a Platinum, I get Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0. I can pay $1,595 for Co-Pilot360 Active 2.0. I see no $1,000 option.

It was included in the job 1 order guide. However, it shows as a free standing option (17A I believe) in the job 2 order guide.

Yes correct. I brought this up with Chip at Granger Ford on my recently ordered Platinum. From what he heard was that the adaptive steering was delaying builds. I have only seen adaptive steering on Super Duty. Not sure a F-150 would need it, but naturally I am conflicted on my order now with the mix of information.

Evidently I have it standard on my 2020 Platinum and that truck drives great. So I guess I’ll pay the extra to have it on the 2021 and btw get my truck sooner than w/o it.
