Default 360 Camera Issue w/ New Mirrors

Installed new mirrors yesterday, power fold, and when they are folded the 360 camera view is distorted. Assuming there is a Forscan solution but can't figure it out. Any help is greatly appreciated!

If I am understanding you correctly, your concern is ONLY when the mirrors are folded in? If that's the case, then that is completely normal. The IPMA will not be able "un-distort" the 360 view if the mirror is folded in. The mirrors have to be out in their regular position for that. Working for a dealer group that sells 10 different brands of vehicles, I have never seen a vehicle that maintains proper 360 views when the mirrors are folded. Because the cameras are in a different position, the view gets distorted. Is it possible to program the IPMA to show a proper 360 view with the mirrors folded? Maybe.....not sure. However, if you did that, then the view would be equally distorted once you fold the mirrors out.

360 view worked just fine with my tow mirrors folded in (replaced the tow w/ standard mirrors)

I feel like there must be an answer here!

the system might need to be recalibrated, i know on the tow mirrors vs the standard mirrors the cameras are mounted in a different location

The tow mirrors have the cameras mounted at a different location I believe that is at a fixed location. Standard mirrors have them mounted to the mirror itself which moves, hence why it doesn't work.

I also don't think you make it work short of making custom mirrors or going back to tow mirrors. The lens and mounting orientation are going to keep it from ever working.

Default Recalibration

I went from standard to tow mirrors and had the same issue along with a reverse brake assist error. Took it into the dealer, let them know about the error and the cameras being out of alignment and they fixed it.

I work at the place that makes Ford trailer tow mirrors and have an F150 with the standard mirrors.
The reason standard mirrors don't work but TT mirrors do is the camera is located on the door mount bracket on the TT mirrors and does not move when the head is folded.
On the standard mirror the camera is located in the head and moves when the mirror is folded.
It rotates probably close to 90 degrees.

Well for the 2024 model. They're telling me i have to take the cameras put of the old standard mirrors and swap them for the cameras in the TT mirrors. Apparently its a known problem, at least thats what the FoMoCo hotline is telling the texhs at the Ford dealership my truck iis at.
