300 miles and CEL
Never had a CEL on a brand new vehicle (317 miles). I just ordered an OBD 2 reader to find out what it is. I hope I wouldn't get a CEL for Instrument Panel Software update recall. My 2020 F150 never had an issue.
Do you not live close enough to the Dealership where you bought it, to take it back? Call your salesperson and ask for help if they say you have to wait. I bet they will bend over backwards to straighten it out quick.
Explain to me how its a waste of time to hold accountable the people who sold you the vehicle? I take my truck to a place that did not sell me the truck and they bust their butts to make me feel welcome...obviously so I buy the next one from them...
If you don't want to go back to the dealer because it is a waist of time, maybe hit up a Autozone or Napa etc and have them read it. They can't fix it nor can they log it into the service record of the truck, but you don't have to wait long for them to read it. I know my dealers service writers all have access to a code reader, so when I had to bring in a vehicle they could read the code, clear it and log it. If it needs to be serviced they set up the appointment right then along with a loaner for me.
Update: I purchased a OBD 2 reader and read the code: P2C44. I erased the code to see if it would come back and it did. Rugedraw has been helping me out! The dealers by me have no loaner cars and want me to leave the truck, earliest apt is Oct 20 which is BS. Ford service is really the pits. Going to call other Ford dealers to see if I can get a loaner.
