Default '21 Tow Shackle Conversion

Anyone converted the front tow hooks to shackles yet? I know RC has a kit for 2020 and older but says it doesn't fit '21 models...I'm skeptical that Ford changed the mounting for these...

I might just buy the kit if no one has taken a look at these yet.

Currently in the market for the conversion and stumbled upon this. I’m thinking the exact same thing; skeptical that Ford changed the mounting. Did you ever end up buying it and checking?

i can tell ya the hooks I added to my 21 are "from a 2018"...

I need to get those rubber boots that go around them. Always forget about them when I am near the dealership

The RC ones say 09-20, but again.. my 21 has hooks from a 18 so...

Good to know. I went ahead and purchased it. Should be receiving it Friday and attempt to install Saturday. Will definitely keep you updated.

It came early! So it installed it tonight!
Happy to say it DOES fit. Perfectly fine. 15 minute install.

When I asked Rough Country via email if it would fit the response was “it won’t mount up.” Quote on quote. It does… just fine..

Only thing is you NEED to take the rubber covering off (the rubber that covers the tow hook). Otherwise you’ll never get the bracket in. Or at least for me it SEEMED like I couldn’t.

If that’s a bother then I obviously don’t recommend, but by taking it off, it gives a more “rugged” look anyway which I like.

Happy modding

I'm interested in doing the same thing. Can you post a few pics to let us see how they turned out.

Maybe e-mail them back and tell them they DO fit so that, if folks contact them in the future, they can give them the correct answer!
