Wife hit a pole in her new truck.
Body shop wants $3,400 to fix this dent.
It is hard to see in the picture.
Other body shops say they don't work on aluminum panels.
Anybody have any tricks to remove it.
You can try to reach from underneath and pop it out by hand, the aluminum is very soft and if there isn't any creases it'll want to go back to where he was. I've also popped out dents using unconventional ways before, I've used a piece of plywood and a flattened ball then inflated it behind the dent and it popped it out, portapower ( excessive in this case ), and sometimes just a light top with a rubber mallet will do the job.
I would locate the lowest spot of the dent grab a piece of cardboard to lay on and take an open Palm and give it a light top and see what happens it may take a couple tries it might pop out on the first try. And if that fails you could always see if someone can do paintless dent repair and pop it out and give it a polish if it's not too badly scratched.
Find the local paintless dent removal guy, ask some dealerships who they use, as well as an internet search. A good one can be pretty impressive. I had a storm blow a garbage can (the big heavy ones the automatic garbage trucks pick up) into the panel just below my hood. Local body shop wanted $1k to fix it. Dent removal guy got 90% of it out, he couldn't go any further because he would risk the paint.

YES this is exactly what you should do! There is a local paint less dent removal guy around here and he is a miracle worker. Some of these guys are really skilled

Also agree. A friend of mine fabricated some of the wild looking tools that they use. I had them fix a dent on my car one time; amazing how they got behind the panel to pop it out with a NASA inspired twisted tool.
