Its not like the dealer is removing features, its ford.

They have no control over what Ford deletes from the builds for the model year. I just dont think they will can do much for you if certain things were deleted. I doubt they will take a hit and give you a discount when its largely out of their control.

Had my dealer not tried to add the bed liner, he nor I wouldn’t have known about the bed led/box link change. Instead of a standard option for the lariat, you now have to spend 1k to have it as part of the “bed utility package” that is only available with the power tailgate. I was going to opt out of the power tailgate, but when I found I couldn’t even get the box link or LEDs without it, I just said add it. **** it

X2
I doubt the dealer was even aware of the changes. I've ordered my last several trucks and research the crap out of it prior to ordering and I always know more than the salesman about what's included in option packages and such.

I was never given any updated build sheets. I ordered a MY21 that was converted to a MY22. I was under the understanding nothing was changing from previous model year when I ordered.

I understand it wasn’t the dealers fault for adding or deleting options but I should have been notified when something that use to be standard and now is apart of a package that I should been able to add that since the box tie downs and the lights weren’t standard anymore. I have yet to see a window sticker also because of the tracking sites being down.

Lights and the tie downs we're never standard before. They we're addons. The lights came standard on 302A, the mounts for the tie downs are there, but you don't get the plates and plastic pieces unless you order them. Standard features going away are mainly small lighted features in the cab.

So the box link tie downs were included on all lariat models. By what I have been reading you had to add the bed utility package to include the box link tie downs and the bed lights then also the tailgate step. So I guess I’ll see when my truck comes in a week or so if they are there.

Kind of the same here. I was really only interested in the tailgate step (my old man knees and back appreciate that step way more than I thought I would on my 18). I have a feeling that after I have my new truck for a while my mindset on the power tailgate will change from "that's a waste of money" to "boy that's a really nice feature to have, glad I got it".

Thanks for posting the info. Would you be able to elaborate what the "secondary cup" lights are that were removed? I'm familiar with everything else you listed but not sure what this one refers to. Thanks.

Yes, the same happened to me. I ordered a 2022 F150 XLT 302A package with box lighting in the bed of the truck. When the truck came, NO LIGHTS in the bed!

The dealership had me order it on line and noted all the web information says it is still a 2021 but it will be built as a 2022. I sent them the build specs, they then entered it into the Ford dealer computer and box lighting was included. I ordered it in Oct. 2021 and received it the last week of December 2021 (actually pretty darn fast). It came with no bed lighting. The dealer was just as surprised as me. After complaining and doing some research they changed that option for 2022 builds.

If you want bed lighting you will need to opt for the "Bed Utility Package," that the dealer or I did not know about at the time of the order. This package, a $695 option, includes all of the following: Boxlink, Tailgate step, and LED Box Lighting, LED Box Lighting is not standard anymore on the highest XLT Package. It is an option now for the 2022's. Ford will not correct the issue in regards to me, so buyer be aware. It is poor communication on the manufacturer's part and I guess I will look into aftermarket lighting options. Just very disappointed in Ford for this. Love the truck, just pissed I got screwed out of what I ordered.

So in short, a 2021 302A package will have bed lighting standard and a 2022 302A XLT will need to add it to the build specs. Hopefully the website will get caught up with the options.
