Default 2022 F150 Removal of Options/Features in all Trims

I am creating an ever expanding list of features that are removed from the 2022 F150 in all Trims in the USA (it seems that earlier Canada 2022 F150s had all these features that we in the USA are missing, in the current build cycle now I do not think they still do). I will continue to add to this list only features that are literally impossible on any trim to get. Items that were moved to other packages or other trims but are still possible to spec on any F150 will not be added to this list. I have a 2022 F150 Platinum due to me trading my 2021 F150 Platinum, I thought I was only gaining features, obviously I was wrong as you can see with this list.

1. Cup Holder Ambient Lights (I have added this back, this needed a custom harness, and if you use the 21 parts without the 21 cup holder you will need to do some slight filing of the clasp nubs to the cup holder) - 2021 Part # HC37-14A318-C (cup light ring) and Part # HC37-14A318-E (cup light) - Color Change Parts from 2017 F150 will also work

2. All Doors have their Secondary Ambient Light which was for Door Cupholder directed Illumination removed (I have added this back, you have options) - Color Change Parts Installed from 2017 F150 however resizing of cabling, zip ties and screws needed (currently only entry exit color change works with the 2022 F150. Forscan changes do not currently enable proper color changing)

2021 Plug and Play Part #’s
ML3Z-13C724-A (Driver)
ML3Z-14A318-G (Passenger)

ML3Z-13C724-C (Left Rear)
ML3Z-13C724-B (Right Rear)

Unplug and de-route existing single light and replace with dual light, Only other thing needed are some screws for mounting originally missing secondary light (unknown exact screw size, will update with sizing later)

3. Media Bin Light (I have added this back, this needed a custom harness that is connected to the center console) - 2021 Part # ML3Z-14A318-C

4. Glove Box Light (I have added this back, this needed a custom harness that is connected to the center console) - 2021 Part # ML3Z-14A411-C

5. LCD Readout Temperature Adjustment Dials (I have added this back) - 2021 Platinum Part # ML3T-18C612-DE

When you do this upgrade you need to make sure that if you order a brand new one you load the programming to it on forscan from your old unit.

If you buy a used unit it may not have the necessary programming to work correctly example if you have a hybrid truck and pulled the used unit from a gas only truck, in this case you also need to load your old programming to it on forscan from your old unit.

6. Leftmost and Rightmost Vents no longer have an adjustment dial to turn off air flow instead you must manually close vent (Not working on adding this back, closing vents isn’t something I’ve ever done, I might add part numbers)

7. Media Bin Snap In Phone Holder is no longer included - 3D Printing might be the only option

8. Rear Cup Holders Clasp Nubs are no longer present it is now just a Cup Holder without the clasping mechanism that the Front Cup Holders have - 2021 Part # ML3Z-1513562-DB

9. License plate lights are now Incandescent instead of LED (serviceability is better meaning you have a bulb instead of an entire assembly, and thankfully the bulb is easy to upgrade)

Either this is a part supply issue or an inflation issue and/or greed.

GREED and or INFLATION

Regardless no one was made aware of all the features being removed from the 2022 F150.

@JHForman812 is the one who provided (and is selling) harnesses. He has provided support all throughout the process of adding these features back. He and I live near each other and we have been working together to get all of this to work again.

I will be arguing this upon receiving my truck. I ordered based on 2021 model. I was told “should” be no change in packages or features. Also I ordered tailgate step and I also wanted the bed tie downs and led bed lights so if I don’t get them which was an added package for MY22 I’m really going to be pissed.

For #4, I imagine your sync 4 is still displaying temps too?

Correct it is, Sync 4 temp constant display in the upper and rightmost corners is merely a software update specific to 2022.

A related part number would be nice to have so others can do this to their vehicle.

Probably due to the chip shortage. I was looking at the 2022 Denali's on GMC's website. They are deleting heated seats and temperature read out on the climate control ***** on a lot of trucks.

So you're going to be pissed if you don't get things that were included on 21MY, but also going to be pissed if you don't get things from the 22MY?

I don't get all the angst about the temp display no longer being on the *****. You have to look down to see them and take your eyes off the road. Having them on top of the display is, in my opinion, a better option. Just a quick glance.

Or maybe because I wear a bifocal that I have to tilt my head too much. I will miss the cup holder ambient lighting when I turn my lease in though.
