I will keep you posted. It probably is a software issue since Ford replaced the trans. and the powertrain control module. It seems to me the transmission does not go down to a lower gear or increase the RPM when going up a hill especially with cruise on.

I just ordered a 2022 Powerboost. Has anyone that has had the Powerboost regretted buying that engine?

I know it makes the weird artificial sounds which I kind of like to hear the V8 engine sound. But I hear that the engine and transmission are super efficient and the best HP and torque rating of all of the current engines.

I just wonder if I should go V8. I have had the 3.5 Ecoboost and enjoyed it for the most part. Except the shifting is not as smooth at times in the city. I test drove a 2021 Powerboost a month ago and was amazed at the performance and shifting. Lots of power to burn. And better fuel economy.

Just thought I would ask. I have time to swap to a V8. Guess I am just skiddish to buying a new engine and losing the sound of the big V8.

Have a 21 XLT Dearbon built (Jan,2021) power boost.

1rst, no vibrations along with no falling down insulation which could lead to some type of vibration.

2nd, just stomp on the go pedal in a power boost, this is a beast that turns into a lamb for the easier times.

3rd, sound gets you nowhere.

It's not really a new engine, it's the 3.5 EcoBoost that's been around.

Electric motors are very simple and reliable by comparison, and the hybrid system major components have a federally mandated 8 year 100k mile warranty

I have the same Transmission Shutter problem with my 21 Powerboost. Looking for solutions since Ford offers none. Its already been to the dealer and the performed a TSB that "lessened" the 1 to 3rd harsh shift but the high speed shutter still remains.

This shudder is a known thing, and have only heard PB owners complain about it. It is solved by pressing the gas pedal, or forcing a downshift. I assume Ford will eventually fix with a software update.

Hi there. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I'd like to look into things on my end.

2021 PowerBoost owner since May 26th, 2021 with no mechanical problems (knock on wood).
If I had not wanted the 7.2kW generator, I may have gone with the V8.

Normally don't like the added complexity / cost of turbos etc., but from what I read this is the 3rd iteration of the 3.5 EcoBoost motor, so hopefully they've gotten all the bugs out.

I have a case number already...CAS-35379407-M1V9H. If you can help with any additional info That would be appreciated. I haven't heard from anyone. My dealership Is not very helpful. They told me that they don't have a transmission tech the last time I was there. Let me know if you need any further information.
