Default 2021 AC issue

While driving to Daytona today i had the AC on the lowest setting outside temp was 81 then the outside temp was 84 i noticed that the AC was at full blast coming out the vents but the light on the fan control was still at the lowest setting. After a couple of miles down the rd the fan speed dropped to the normal lowest speed.
anyone had this happen to them.

This has happened to me a few times on highway trips over an hour long. Not sure what is going on.

If the system is in AUTO, the fan will modulate as required to keep the cabin cool. Even on the lowest setting (slowest fan speed), the fan will increase if it is not keeping up with cooling and then go back to low once it has cooled.

The 3 lights on the AUTO setting dictate how low the fan speed is allowed to go, but it doesn't prevent the fan speed from increasing when needed.

Had this issue on mine on longer road trips as mentioned. Fan will on its own speed up. Extremely irritating. NOT on Auto, never have used auto.

Does anyone elses fan also take forever to turn on? You start vehicle and it takes 5-10 seconds before any air starts coming out of vents. Terrible when its 100* outside and more inside the vehicle.

My 21' Plat also does this... super annoying. I also only usually only notice it on longer trips. The cabin temp is perfectly fine, and has been for awhile, all the sudden the truck is like: 'here, have max airflow for a minute or so!' Then, back to normal... My 15', & 18' both never did that. I mentioned it to the dealer got the typical Ford dealer response, "that's how they must work now".

Yep, my truck has done this since day one. I thought it was just mine, or that it was supposed to do it, but mine even does it when I don't have it set to "auto". Doesn't make any sense.

Did you ever figure out what it was?

Default Anything?

This happens to me as well on a 2023 lariat.

Also feels like the middle two vents blow significantly harder than the two outer vents.

has anyone figured out why the fan speed increases automatically when auto is turned off?

I have a 2023 Xlt and my air does the same thing in auto or not in auto. I spoke with a friend who has a 2023 platinum and he said his does it also. I drive an hour to work and it does it at about 30 mins of driving. Doesn’t seem normal but at least it’s blowing cold!

Not sure but it could be a programmed feature that increases airflow occasionally to vent the cabin. There’s two baffles behind the rear seat to allow cabin pressure to escape when you close the last door. It could possibly utilize that with the air on fresh setting and force a ventilation to expel cabin air through. My Audi has a sensor on the fresh air inlet and if it detects anything like exhaust fumes, it’ll automatically switch to recirculate. I don’t believe our trucks utilize a sensor but it could be a similar feature but in reverse, drawing fresh air in to expel carbon monoxide buildup. Just a theory.
