12v socket inside center console to replace USB ports
Just picked up a 2022 platinum. Inside the center console it has a USB-C and a USB-A port instead of the 12v socket. That would be fine except the USB ports are very slow and don't support PD of any kind. I have a 12v charger that will charge my laptop and also fast charge my phone. In my previous truck, this was all tucked inside the center console and I could access it via the cable coming out through the notch in the lid. Is there a part number for a 12v socket that's a plug and play swap in that location? I assume there's trim levels where that 12v socket is still in place.
Do you have the 12vdc outlet on the passenger facing rear console?
You could pull the console apart and pick up that 12v and add an outlet or a fast charging usb outlet inside your console (or anywhere else for that matter).
I do, and that's certainly an option. I'd prefer the factory option though if there is one.
I doubt there is an option...more likely youll have to go to an earlier model year.
Our 2020 Expedition (Limited, Stealth, 303A trim level) does have a 12vdc outlet inside the center console (storage).

Likely not, see this figure from the 2022 Workshop Manual which I've annotated in red for the reasons why ....
IMO it's most likely that if there are trims with a 12VDC port inside the console where your (and my) USB dual-port is located, they will have different harness configurations matching that for the 12VDC ports shown above (circuits rated for more than 5 Amps).
If considering one of the mentioned USB > 12VDC adaptors, keep that 5A fuse in mind, it's for both of the in-console USB ports and is sized to protect the 22 gauge wire to those ports (IMO you do not want to swap that fuse for larger and risk causing the 22 ga wire to melt / start a fire!).
That's the kind of information I was looking for! Thank you! I'm not considering the USB to 12vdc adapters due to the 5a limit as you said. Looks like my best option is to tap into the feed for the 12v in the rear of the console or pop it out and bring it inside the console or something similar. Thanks again.

Agreed.
FYI, to access that rear-of-console port ...
Lift the cupholder mat and remove the hex-head screw (7mm IIRC) found in a deep depression in the center of cupholder (and only that screw - leave the others in place, no need to remove the cupholder itself)
Then just pry-out the entire back piece with air vents and ports - it's only held with clips on tabs
.
Super easy and all will be exposed for making a PosiTap connection - check polarity with a meter, I don't recall the wire colors on that one. That also exposes the back-wall of the console bin with plenty of available depth if you can live with the 12VDC port back there (BTDT).
.
Have Fun!
Edit to add a pic of my tap to that port, I needed 12VDC in the console for another purpose
