What does sport mode do
On my wife's Fusion it seems or does let the engine rev up a little higher between shifts. Basically feels like a pepper more responsive car. Judging from the grin on my wife's face when she trys it, she likes it too.
On my test drive when I bought my truck, I was impressed with the acceleration and sound of the engine, then my salesman said, "Now put it in Sport Mode", so I did and it was even more fun, lol!
so what I've noticed changing from comfort to sport, is that the steering wheel would feel a lot more stable especially when taking turns or at high speed. Before changing it, my wheel would wobble a lot when taking turns with bumps and would swing my truck a lot (I also need new shocks). After I changed it to sport out of curiosity, the steering wheel will not move at all when making turns and my truck is much more stable, it still swings due to my shocks but the wheel is a lot more stable and I was shock. haha get it. My steering wheel doesnt move when I go over bumps, even when you are not holding the wheel.

It does not change engine power output if that’s what you’re asking about. In Raptors, it will adjust the suspension, steering firmness, and transmission shift points. For non-Raptors sport mode will adjust the transmission shift points and on some models it will increase the steering firmness.
I like it because it holds gears and doesn't automatically try to get into the highest gear (I have a 10 speed). I drive on one particularly narrow curvy road all the time and in N it is always hunting gears even when I'm not driving "sporty". Also, if I'm "city" driving in N it always has to bump down a couple gears to accelerate with traffic.
I've never noticed any other differences in the driving such as steering and suspension, but I probably wouldn't (I'm not that observant!)..
