Default Tuning help please

I am new here. I have a 2018 F 150 5.0 4x4 Lariot. I went to tune today with my Livernois 93 performance tune.

All was going well for the first 7 miles and then on the highway the tc stopped locking up. It just started free spinning.

Things got hot really fast! I pulled over and called Livernois and we loaded stock tune.

WTH?? They confirmed the tune is correct and have been very helpful. They said maybe a missed TSB on the 10 speed.

Any ideas?

Why do you say that? They have been tuning F150 for a while.

Give ssi a call I've been running them on my truck since i got it and I've had zero issues and no you won't blow up your truck not to mention ssi is the fastest out there for the f150s.

SSI is straight garbage. I guarantee you they don't have the fastest 5.0's out there.

JSF how high of trans temp did you see? I don't think a Ford TSB is your issue here. Did it throw an engine light or wrench light?

I tend to agree. I am not exactly sure. I reloaded the stock tune and off I went. It was 248 after sitting of for 5 minutes. It blew 10 quarts of trans fluid out the side of the trans gasket.

I would lean towards it being some kind of software issue in their tuning. Maybe something weird happened during the flash. I would try it again and datalog it.

I think I am sending it back. Not sure tuner will buy me a new trans. It is amazing it was working with 3 quarts in it.

Thank you.

I am very sorry to hear you are having issues with the truck. We've tuned a great deal of the 10 speed F-150s and haven't had any issues with the tunes for them. I have heard of a completely stock 2018 F-150 5.0L that had similar issues with the transmission getting hot on the freeway on the factory tune. I know there have also been some TSBs for the 10 speed trucks which it sounds like one of my co-workers had previously mentioned which are always worth looking into as well.

Thank you for the response. My truck has 18,000 trouble free miles. Never an issue with the transmission. I drive it 3,000 miles monthly. I don't know what happened but losing 10 quarts of fluid is not normal. I have tuned over a dozen trucks and cars. This is just one of those unfortunate things.
