Has anyone put a methane injection kit on with their supercharger?

I think you mean methanol. I’ve seen a few people do it, yes.

I'd look into E85 before I'd consider meth injection, as I'm not a fan of the way water/meth injection eats the low friction coating off supercharger rotors. That said, if E85 isn't available locally then meth injection is not a bad way to make power when used correctly.

E85 only one place in 50 miles...
The company I’m getting my kit from recommends straight methanol no water do you have any thoughts on that?

So there are several schools of thought. Are they using meth injection for charge air cooling, or are they treating it as extra fuel? It'll need to be tuned properly either way, but if they are using it as extra fuel then you air fuel ratio could get a bit screwy if you run out of meth while driving around. I'd personally not want to be relying on it as extra fuel, those kits are not the most reliable things and it doesn't take long to empty the reservoir.

If you are at a power wall, the meth/water injection is not a bad way to go. However if you still have an upgrade path available, I'd recommend that before you bother with meth injection.

What supercharger kit are you running? What size pulley and injectors?

A Whipple 2.9 stage 3 with 3.750 pulley. I ordered a 4 gal. reservoir so not to have an issue of running out.
We will be tuning it to the added fuel but i was looking to keep the motor cooler for the main function.
Whipple is not giving me much info for upgrading the pulley actually none at all. I don't think
I will go with a smaller pulley just because all I am hearing it would put me closer to damaging my motor.

You have terrible fuel out there in California, so if you are trying to run a 3.750 pulley you are definitely going to need something to increase knock resistance....and the meth injection should do that. But like I said earlier, you run out of meth and you better be careful with that craptastic 91 octane. Lastly, get rid of your catalytic converters...and yes I realize that is going to be next to impossible in california, but the stock ones WILL fail sooner rather then later and possibly take your engine with it.

I ran methanol injection on a previous car...first as a charge air cooler, and second as supplemental fueling.

The big thing will be HOW the meth is injected. If pre-blower, i'm with badcon on the damage it'd cause to the blower itself...aside from the fact that who knows how the fuel distribution will be post-blower into the cylinders. If you can direct port the methanol that would be optimal, but difficult. A low-level sensor will be valuable to have installed, assuming you can get it to stay sealed. Had a kit with a plastic tank and a plastic thread-in low level sensor and the 100% methanol absolutely destroyed seals and made it impossible to use the level sensor.

Do you mean a Whipple Gen 3? I haven't heard of a Stage 3 Whipple.

Out of curiosity who's tune are you using?

Mike
