He recommended not following the soon to be old instructions and place the bars in the neutral position vs lengthening them to firm by hand - preloading.
Preloading was needed with the old style joints that had a very large tolerance and preloading took up any slack.

TX-Ripper, excellent info on the new joints! I have the old style QA1 joints, and after a year or so they are still quiet. But when they inevitably start getting loose, like all street driven rod ends do, I'll be looking into those Ridetechs!

Finally gave up and ordered the 09-14 kit also. Installed today and very pleased with the results. I welded the front brackets rather than drilling. It was much easier and that’s what the guy I talked to at Stifflers recommended when using this kit on 15 & up trucks.
