Hi guys... i have a 04 f150. 15k on new crate motor 2 years ago. Well it ate a chain guide and trashed a phaser. I decided to do the lockouts. I have a sct x2 tuner from mike troyer years ago. Mike is out of bussiness so... I had a lockout tune made and am having trouble getting the tune into the truck. Getting the (wrong ecm type )error on the screen. Tuner has tried 5 different tune files and all the same result. Please help.

 

I would contact SCT. They can create a recovery file for you.

 

Hello, I did call them today. Not much help with x2. If anyone has the updater 2 program for x2 i could reinstall my firmware and start over. The one on sct website is no good. They made me a stock program tune and i had the same error while i was on the phone with them.So he said it must be something with my x2 but it worked fine with my previous tunes.

 

I have had issues with my truck not taking the recovery file. It took me 5 or 6 tries before it took. But mine was using an x4.
