Default sct bdx question

Just picked up a SCT BDX second hand. Its not married, has 4 unlocks. Updated it, connected it to the 2012 f150 ecoboost and, fails the wifi update. Says I need to connect it to the updater software.
Did that again, same result. Ive already sent an email to SCT. Anyone else have this issue before?

Does it not come with base tunes?

it may depend on the generation of tuner you bought. i don't believe my tuner will go back to 2012. i have the bullydog BDX, same thing. emailing SCT is the right way to go, but you may need a custom tune with that unit
so a quick search on google and i found that tuner will work with your truck. try a factory reset on the tuner and update your wifi settings

So, SCT gave me a base/test tune to upload. That worked.
I thought there was supposed to be a couple "preloaded" tunes.

Should I just reach out to a company like 5 star and get a tune setup from them?

So far, everything is stock, aside from the K&N intake. It will have aftermarket BOVs installed soonish too.
