Default Pinion angle.

Well a bunch of boxes showed up to get these trucks lowered. Going with the VAS viking coilovers for the front, shock relocation bar with vikings in the rear. Picked up some spring perches, plates and ubolts to flip the rear axle. Once lowered i am going to build some traction bars, just wasnt happy with the offerings out there, too many compromises. Curious what the general con-census for pinion angle was? Both trucks are going to be beat on pretty good. Setup a few leaf spring cars with success, but this is the first truck, and first 4wd truck. Anybody play around and find a good starting point?

The same rules apply to every vehicle...follow them for setting the driveline angles and weld on the new saddles.
The Spicer Driveline Angle Calculator online is my go to...crazy easy to use.

I understand the rules to the game. Just curious if anybody played with it with success. Its a pretty long front segment of the spring, and i know traction bars will limit it some, but there is definetly going to be some wrap. How much spring wrap there is is going to influence how much the pinion will walk, and where you want to set it when welding the perches. There is going to be a compromise because it is a street vehicle, but i’d like to not find out the hard way. Changing pinion angle can have a big effect on how the car reacts on the hit.

Why not convert to 4 link and coilovers and get rid of the leaf springs as a whole?

I prefer leaf springs. Would rather have a mono leaf, and tried to convince calvert to make some split mono's for the trucks, but it seems it is a no go. A well set-up leaf spring will do what I am looking for.
