Default loud clunk when accelerating. ( will stifflers fit 2015+ models)

I'm starting to notice a loud clunk when first taking off from a stop. it's been going on for about 3 weeks. I haven't diagnosis it yet, seems to being coming from the rear end. I also noticed if I have the e locker on the clunk will change in volume. could this be from the traction bars I installed? any suggestions.

What type of bars again? If you added bushings or joints into the system with the bars, check those.

I had a similar noise when I first installed my RC long bars except mine would clunk when I decelerated. I had a little play in one of the joints so I tightened that up and it went away.

I went with the bwoody traction bars.. super nice with poly bushings and grease fittings. I will check them for play and proper torque

Sorry for detailing, but how are you linking them? Have you launched it yet?

If Stifflers aren’t ready by Jan, I may go with these.

Why is the company so adamant about a little bit of jury rigging to make them work? I’m not disagreeing, but genuinely curious.

There’s no rigging anything...you just have to drill all 6 frame holes instead of the brackets using an oem frame hole. Bolt on the axle plates, assemble the bars to equal length, bolt on the frame brackets then swing them up to the frame, mark and drill the holes. It took me all of 2 minutes to figure out how to do it. Someone here did an excellent write up on it...can’t remember who though.
All Stifflers has to do is re-write the directions for 15-current trucks really. Tons of us run their bars on newer trucks.

Thanks for the explanation. I was told that the bracket didn’t make enough contact on the frame as one of the reasons. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone breaking a set. I do remember that thread for a while back. I’ll take a look at it.

The only difference between fitment on the 11-14 and 15+ trucks is the drilling of two extra holes, 1 per bracket. Otherwise they fit perfectly fine, and I've been pounding on them with sub 1.7 60fts without issue since I installed them last year. NVH increase is minimal if you take the time to align the spherical joints with each other while tightening (they will want to spin opposite each other in the brackets).

I posted a thread when installed mine with some pictures. The install is the same exact amount of work as the Bwoody traction bars.
