When you get ready for a throttle body look at the classified section over at the svt forum you can usually find a used one at half price.

I know I now have 410's, but the new tires are almost 2" taller, so I don't think shifting will be a problem, hopefully.

I already had the bias ply mickey's 28x11.5x17 and they dead hooked at the track, even with very little to no burn out. They turned in a 1.85 60'. I'm making a little more power now and have lower gears, but the taller tires I believe will help fight against wheel spin and help the truck roll out more before it needs to shift.

it did a 1.79 60' on the dyno with the short drag tires and 373 gears. they put the street tires on it with the 410's and it did a1.52 60' time. Hence the decision to opt for a taller tire. I'm pretty happy with everything so far. They've offered to go to the track with me and do some datalogging in order to dial in the transmission in case there's any problems left over. They learned a lot working on my truck, lol.

Who makes the 305/50/17 drag radial?

Well the injectors are maxed out as is. Honestly at this point I'm not really considering one....at least not anytime soon

What injectors are you running?

47lb injectors that came with the blower. I assume they're Ford Racing, however I don't really know.

Does this truck have a lot of mods that aren't listed in your signature?

I don't see anywhere near a 10.7 happening. Mathematically, you need 800rwhp+ to run that. A 1.5 60ft is going to take a converter and traction. Also, a steel body truck needs to trap 130mph+ in real life to break into the 10's.

my goal is 11's. the screen shot is just what it did on the dyno. I have no where stated that I thought the truck would go under 11 seconds. Hopefully though it does go fairly deep into the 11's

performance mods are tvs 2300 roush with 75mm pulley, stock fuel pump and 47lb injectors
kooks 1 and 7/8 long tube headers with full 3" dual exhaust and x pipe
4.10 gears
intercooler resevoir (5 gallon) moved to bed of truck
stock front struts, calmax drop shocks on the back, slam air helper bags on the rear, djm 3" drop control arms and shortened stock coil springs
vas tration bars
custom home grown heat exchanger set up
stock drive shaft
new taller drag radials on the way, MT 305/50/17's

it did a 12.60 at 109 untuned, with crap exhaust, and short short 28x11.5x17 mt et street bias tires with 373 gears. it still did a 1.85 60' time.

edit: nvm, decent change i thought that was the 30" radial, the 30" radial is 315/50 lol.

I got the numbers wrong....it's the 315/50/17, not a 305. It says 30" on jegs, but on Mickey's website it says 29.5. Sorry if I confused anyone. These tires will go on a rim as narrow as 8.5", spec rim is 10". I'm using 17x8.5 raptor take off wheels with a +30 offset. The new tires will be about 1/2" wider to the inside and outside on my truck then the existing drag tires. It will protrude a little outside the fenders, but I don't really care on a dedicated drag tire. They're somewhere between 1.5 and 2" taller

rojizostang 12-13-2018 04:29 PM

The MT 3574's (current drag tire) are 28x11.5x17. That's almost identical in size to 285/50/17, which is what I used for the tire and rim calculator
