Unhappy Gas Mileage on 2014 F-150 Limited

Ok I just purchased a used 2014 limited 4X4 with 44500 miles and it has the 36gal fuel tank, my question is what should I be getting for MPG? What is everyone averaging per/gal, I'm getting 13 city and I took a trip to Indy pulling a enclosed two axle trailer with full dressed bike and got around 10.1 miles/per gal? I've only had the truck for going on three weeks, I've owned an 2013 limited 4x2 and would get 18.-19 hwy doing 70-75mph. I don't any messages coming up on the dash it runs fine but just horrible MPG? Any solutions would be helpful. Thanks

You're in the suggested MPG ballpark for all engines/cab sizes, though they all vary slightly. Yours would suggest 5.0 Screw?

It's the stock setup on a Limited 22" wheels & stock suspension.

Would start with the basics.
  • proper tire inflation
  • new air filter
  • Clean TB/MAF
  • Can of Seafoam
  • Reset mileage meter

This sounds about right. 10 mpg towing a box like an enclosed trailer or travel trailer is par for the course. Maybe even doing good.

13 city. sure, that sounds right. I don't drive in the city much so I cannot confirm.

You didnt mention what HWY mpg you get in the new truck. On the freeway I can do 20-21 at 65mph in a Lariat 4x4 with 3.73's. If I bump to 70-75mph I am looking at high teens. 80 I am at 16.

I thought the limiteds were 3.5EB only.

They are, mine is a 3.5 EB. On my last trip I towed an enclosed trailer w/my full dress Victory XC to Indiana and avg 10.1 mpg with the 36gal fuel tank. So far in the city I'm seeing 13-14mpg truck only, I had a13 model Limited 2wd and would get 15-17mpg and on the hwy about 18-19+ mpg (Truck only) w/26gal tank.

your 14 is already heavier because of the 36g tank, but add in all the limited features, and your payload capacity is what, 1100lbs? maybe 1200? that should tell ya how heavy the truck is.
