Default FMIC or METH

Just looking for opinions on this. 2.7l 2018 f150 and planning out my preformance upgrades. Should I go FMIC with pipes or meth injection.... Never really thought about meth untill the idea came up for my wifes full stage3 focus st for increased lower temps on track days. Anyways.. have at it

also just thought of this, most fmic have you remove the shutters, are there any that dont? I would like to keep them on for the mpg gains on the highway. I do alot of 400mile runs..

Default 3.5 Too

Interested in this thought for the 3.5 too. I have not seen 100's of "FMIC is crap" threads, so my impression is that it can't be as bad as it is on the Mustang.

Intercooler first always. The oem intercooler worked fine for stock, but once I tuned heat soak is a real thing. When you outgrow the intercooler....meth.

Are you talking for daily driving or track use? Track use I could see the meth doing the job of the intercooler and possibly a little more but for daily use and towing I'd go with the intercooler. I had both o my last vehicle but started with the intercooler.

Default Time in Boost

Yeah, Meth seemed like a much better plan to me until I got and started driving the truck. I've driven a turbo car almost daily for the last dozen years, and it was hard to stay in boost for long even with spirited driving. It seems harder to not boost in the F-150 even when trying to drive very conservatively.

Meth is great when you do 100% meth. But then you need a huge tank for the demand even when boost-based.

Upgrade the FMIC, and if you want a boost of power during the extreme summer heat down there in Fort Worth, a shot of meth post-intercooler is great. I would suggest Devil's own, drill and tap a port for a nozzle right on the endtank of an aftermarket FMIC so it atomizes in the cold side charge pipe prior to the throttle body.

FWIW, I saw charge air temps drop 40* below intake air temps when using a heavy methanol shot on my last vehicle. Course, I was using it as added fueling as well.
