I have customers who needed their PCM reflashed to stock because either they could not revert to stock (lost the tuner) or they bought a vehicle that was tuned and didn’t realize it until they brought it to the dealer for service. At my shop we use Ford tools to flash to stock, IMO that’s the best way to go- start with a clean PCM calibration then retune.
Thank you for the information and confirming what I was told by Tony!

Tunes often block Forscan module changes, this is pretty normal stuff, just need to return to stock first. Had this on a few trucks I've programmed.

Default Encrypted tune

I can’t use fordscan to adjust tire size, Bambi mode, etc. I went to a local tuner that specializes in SCT and same results, nothing comes up on the computer once attached to the OBD. He suggested having the dealer return to factory, so that I can retune again. Dealer wants $500 to convert back to stock.

Any ideas out there to avoid having to retune? Don’t know why the previous owner would install an encrypted tune. Thanks for any feedback!
I had the same problem with my 19 2.7 tuned on a Sct device with (BCB 93). The shop couldn't read any codes with there scan tools. Had to pull the codes with the device.. in my case my PCM was over charging my battery and had to change out the PCM . I'm not sure why but it did happen too me too

@Ducktastic If you still have the non-working PCM I will take it off your hands. Send me a private message to discuss.

hi buddy, i just saw you opinion about MPT vs Oz, now i am in a lot of doubts between the 2, so i reached out to my local tuner and advised him, he asked me for the tune file, if you can kindly attach it that would be really helpful to review the differences and go with one of them
best regards
Saif

I ran into the same issue after hooking a Flashpaq (not recommended) to my truck . ForScan couldn't read it anymore. Luckily, I was able to get a new Roush tune. It did ask me for the PCM number, you can get that from the MotorCraft site. Should be able to re-write the AsBuilt data.
