Default Difference in engines?

Why doesn't my Coyote F150 pop and crackle like my Mustang did?

Yeah, look into "popcorn" or "crackle" tunes. If you want your engine to sound like it's not being well-controlled by its computer.

In the days before variable valve timing. It took a cam change to change the amount of overlap and duration. So called 'big cams" featured more of both and subsequently had a characteristic idle lope and produced the crackle/pop, particularly with increased compression. KM
