imo they are a must for this install. You could have left the fuel rails attached and still torqued the lower manifold.

if you have an advanced auto parts close by they have a set that will works great for $30ish

While I was torquing down the blower to the manifold I noticed the DI Dump fuel hose had a BAD kink in it. You can see it in the torque bolt picture above, below is a closeup. I reworked it so it wasn't as bad but still not really happy with it, it almost seems like the hose is too long or just not right for the application. Any suggestions here?

Only thing you can do is roll the hose to keep it from kinking.

it will be fine.

Cut the factory installed hose off the EVAP solenoid, the Whipple manual words this very strangely. What it saying is cut the hose off the front, install on the truck then connect the back side to the connection on the truck. It doesn't mention the wire harness. Should it be connected now?

Thanks Tx-Ripper!

I read the instructions again and it was there, sorry Whipple. Also make sure to include the extension wire harness shown below.

Connected the EVAP solenoid electrical connection with the extension. Make sure to the white clips are slid forward and it locks. I'll tidy this up with zip ties when everything is done.

Here his what I think there is another error in my version of the installation guide. There is a picture like the one below except it shows 2 small male fittings and one large. The kit includes 2 large and one small, I checked the hoses that connect to it and what is supplied appears to be correct.

The pictures in the instructions are for the 2015-2017 trucks.

not the 2018

Now install the second intercooler connection on the front of the blower. Use blue Loctite again on the screws and a little grease on the orings.
