I ordered the MPVI2 with 4 credits tonight. I will let the smoke settle and then hit Ken up for a tune. In the meantime I am going to try the battery disconnect, KAM reset thing.
You're about where I was taking the slow. The tune in this weather does no good at all. I haven't taken my MPVI2 out of the box yet. Maybe this weekend, although the weather doesn't look like its going to cooperate at all.

Yesterday's drive in was sure interesting with all the ice.

After I do connect up the MPVI2 from what TxRipper said we need to contact HPTuners to unlock the tune?

The tune will do you lots of good in this weather...... Ken's Tune makes the truck drive so much smoother that it is a benefit in all weather conditions.

By the way you won't have to contact HP Tuners, you just need to download the latest beta and you'll be good to go.

You can tow max legal weight at full throttle with the whipple tune up steep grades.

Ken will tell you not to tow with his tune, and to use the whipple tune for towing.
Another dumb question... can you go back and forth between the Whipple tune and the tune you get from Ken? Of did you just mean stick with whipple tune if you are going to tow?

The information you posted is not correct.

This is latest whipple cal is not defined with the latest beta as of today.

Anyone wanting to have ken tune them will have to take a read and submit it to support@hptuners.com to get it unlocked.

What is with the "he is a good guy, not a god" comment? I didn't say he was a god, I just shared my good experience with him and his tunes. I don't just run the Oz Tuning tune for the added power, I also run it because the shift logic in the whipple tune is horrible, and you guys have be looking for updates now for months but they are slow in coming. I can message Ken tomorrow for a trans update and I get it the next day. It's all good man, the whipple kit is awesome but I think their tune could be better, but that is just my opinion.

Anyway, Ken made me a tune I can use for towing at no charge, it is much better than using the whipple tune as the Shift logic is way better.

I think it’s great to be happy with one of the customs available but let’s keep this thread factual and not use it as a sales pitch.

Just start a build thread or post reviews in the performance section.

Everything I post in this forum I have person experience with and a high level working knowledge of hptuners and altering the whipple cal with it.

Some of the information people have posted about not needing the latest whipple cal to be your base tune file is incorrect.

The latest cal from whipple is the 2019 F150 ford racing cal with all of the latest updates from ford and whipple.

It ends with CMH and if you look at it in hptuners it will be OS ID ZRFK6xx. For reference the cal from July is ZRFK4xx

No problem, I'll gladly refrain from posting in this thread anymore as you obviously don't want any added knowledge or experience to be added.

Some other people have lots of knowledge to add as well lol, I'm on my second whipple truck, i built both of mine myself and have 15 years pulling wrenches for a living.

Lots of tuner worship on these forums. Most based on feelings and no data to back it up.

Your version of smooth mine be way different then mine.

Ken is a good guy.

I’m sure you are as well and just trying to be helpful.

Lets save the tuner worship for the ecoboost guys.

Dont stop posting, this is your thread as much as mine.

You don't need to get whipple's latest version, get the older version updated it will be fine. Even if you have the latest version and it is not supported, Ken would take care of getting it unlocked for you.

That was my issue in the first place with the whole thing and why I went custom, Whipple does not make updates available very often and it is frustrating. Don't get me wrong, whipple is a great company with awesome support and excellent products but I feel the tuning side is what lacks the most. I'm sure the reason for this is that a they try to make all of their stuff 50 state legal with a CARB E.O. #'s so their tuning has to meet stringent approvals from the EPA.

By the way, I am no tuner worshiper, I just share my good experiences and I like it when people are good at what they do, and offer good customer service.

I usually do everything myself and If I were a good tuner I'd tune my own truck, but I'm not at a level where I can do the tune justice, so I got who I thought was the best. This is the first time I've ever dealt with the man.
