How did you get Sirius XM to work on a Sync 4 APIM, but with an ACM from a 2015?

 

It's in the forscan changes. I don't have an active subscription and have since turned off the source, but when I first installed my SYNC4 APIM it worked. Or at least it would default to Sirius and play the commercials. My truck is a 2018, but I don't think the ACM changed until 2019 when the CD player went away. Now, the CD player doesn't work with SYNC4. That I can confirm.

 

@Kahoona16 i dont have a 2015 acm i replaced it with a 2021 and added the requiered wires the following acms work with f150 2015KL3T-18D832-BH SDARS w/o HDR (2019 F-150)

MT4T-18D818-CC SDARS w/HDR (2021 Edge)

Bx = no HD radio
Cx = HD radio

xC = SDARS
xF = SDARS

The wiring for the SDL/DRDL must be in place.
Additional wiring required:
VMEF7 APIM pin 51 to ACM pin 6 CTRL MOD - Audio Head Unit DRDL_TX_+
VMEF8 APIM pin 52 to ACM pin 19 CTRL MOD - Audio Head Unit DRDL_TX_-
VMEG1 APIM pin 27 to ACM pin 5 CTRL MOD - BT/MM GW MOD DRDL_TX_+
VMEG2 APIM pin 28 to ACM pin 4 CTRL MOD - BT/MM GW MOD DRDL_TX_-

 

In search of just the sync 3 to sync 4 conversion harness standalone. can or will you do that? Ted Croft

 

@abcdburdy just remove pin 53-54 no need for special harness or get an apim extension from ebay and remove those two pins and you should be good

I have trimmed out pins 27 and 27 apm to 5 and 4 acm
removed 53 and 54 from apim
I am uncertain at to the need to move the above listed pins 51 and 52
Also, as discussed in a pm with you, my AC and radio control bezel loses power and goes dark when sync 4 apm is in-system. does not do this when sync 3 apm is returned to in-system. have tried two different aync 4 apm's with same result.

Is this a forscan issue I must further address or are there unforseen dark arts involved here?
