Default What is this hose?

Need a new one, this ones obviously not doing good. But I don't know what it is? Part #?

What is this hose?-photo361.jpg

And this crank case vent is oily, with some oil up in the hose to the air intake, I'm assuming that's not supposed to happen? I did recently change the PCV valve on the other side, didn't test for vacuum though... Guess I should do that... What is this hose?-photo584.jpg

It'd help to have even the slightest info about your truck...

I forgot I even posted this...

I just swapped the line for some vac hose of similar size. I wanted the actual motorcraft molded line but I couldn't find the part number. Guys at the auto parts store weren't very helpful.

PCV valve has a vacuum. Replaced a small section of hose that connects the crank case vent to the air intake.

What I'm getting at is trying to answer all these questions so when someone else with your truck looks up this problem and finds this thread, he or she has the solution and doesn't need to post a new thread.

I just noticed the hoses were going bad. Dry rotted and cracked. So I replaced them. Haven't noticed any changes.

So are you actually having any problems or did you just notice that the hose needed replacement?

Well, the engine is running a tad rough. New PCV valve and these hoses didn't seem to make a change. They needed to be replaced anyways.

No codes... But the auto store won't let me take there's and drive with it so I may end up buying one...

Oh, don't go expensive if you do... or if you're thinking of buying a tuner anyway, you could use this as your excuse. Personally I have a Bluetooth OBD II adapter I bought on eBay for $30 shipped but I hear you can get them cheaper, and I bought Torque Pro for my phone for another $5. You can read real-time data and see DTCs, including pending ones, and you can clear them.

Chasing down this problem... "running a tad rough" how?
