Trans Flush/Torque Converter Flush Question
Hey everyone,
Just a question. I just bought a 99 f-150, and, as usual, I always change all fluids right when I buy a used vehicle.
So, I dropped the pan for the tranny and drained fluid out of there. Then I noticed the plug on the torque converter dust sheidl. Ended up finding out there is a drain plug for it, so I drained that, too. Fluid all looked great.
My question now...I have everything put back together and my Motorcraft Mercon V will be in tomorrow. Can somebody give me a procedure for filling fluid back up? I'm just curious, since I drained the torque converter. Do I add a few quarts and then run the truck in park...or shift through the gears?
What is the procedure for re-filling after draining the pan and torque converter?
Extra info...1999 Ford F-150, 5.4L Triton, 4R70W Transmission...4x4
Thank you everyone.
