torsion bars?
I was told that my 2004 fx4 f150 had torsion bars/keys. I know that gm products have them but i didn't think fords had them. Do fords have them i don't have any idea what they would look like?
There're probably more sublties to know. Anyone? Wanna learn my rig. Just 3 yrs old to me.

Oh. While technically they are a torsion bar pair, they are used to adjust ride height. They are NOT what is norally meant when discussing torsion bars for a "car."
THAT type of tortion bar will be about 3/4" dia, run across the vehicle and have a 12-18" right angle bend on each end which attches to somewhere on/around the control arm... to cause flatter cornering.

Sway bar... yes, I'd say so. It IS a torsion bar, and long ago was used almost synonomously... so they can get mixed up.
Prior conversation was not 100% clear on the type of torsion bar referred to.

The.TWO bars running, on each side front to midshionnare torsion bars but called height adjusters.
A single bar, ~ 4-5 ft long, running trans the front, with a ~90° angle on each end which is another ~12-18", is a torsion bar known as a sway bar or anti-sway bar.
They are both types of "torsion bars."
I've no idea which one was meant in the GMC vs Ford (F150 10th Generation) question. GMC is unfamiliar to me.
I have both.

I believe them to be oem / stock original.
