Default Torque Wrench

Need one to 250ft lbs. I have a few options I am looking at. Needs to be mechanical, NO DIGITAL, both ways cw ccw. Will not buy anything that is super expensive. Here are my options. Why you might ask. Well I did brakes yesterday on the 16 and the front bracket bolts are 184 ft lbs. Had to go to the store to rent the wrench. Not again. Dad taught me one thing when I was young. If you need the tool, go and buy it. Do not hesitate. So here we go. Edit: I might have posted this in the wrong section. Sorry if I did. I also already have a inch lbs 3/8 wrench, I already have a 1/2 in wrench that goes to 150ft lbs.

Project farm is always my go to for decisions like this as he's most likely reviewed the category. I have a 1/2' icon in my tool box.

I have an Icon; it's very similar though the end of the handle looks a little different. It works great, and has been used many times for heavy chores like doing a suspension lift on my RV, setting up a weight distribution hitch, torquing lug nuts, and so on. I have a shorter one that is also half-inch drive but seldom use it because it's just too much effort to torque things like lug nuts with anything that is shorter than this one.

Anyway, I like my Icon torque wrench and wouldn't hesitate to get it again. I have four others (shorter half-inch, 3/8 inch, and quarter inch, and hex wrench). This is the one that gets used.

Watched the video finally. I am surprised that Icon did so well. Wish he would have thrown the cdi on there. I forgot cdi was affiliated with Snap-on. I have narrowed it down to TWO wrenches.

Icon or CDI.

this is the cdi

For the price and performance it's kind of hard to beat the Icon.

Why CCW would you need to know the torque of a most likely rusted fastener?

Ya know, for the price on some of these, it's too bad they can't put more readable settings markings on these. The most expensive has the same poor markings as my $75 Harbor Freight thing.
Anyone know if the digital ones are better, or worse?
Never mind, I see the digital ones you set the desired torque on the interface.

You ever work on dirtbikes, or ATVs (crank nut on a Honda ATC200)? There have been a few times that I have had to torque the opposite direction. Do I use CCW often? No I don't, but I have before with my smaller wrench. So why not get both directions????? Left Hand threads do exist in my world. And it is like that old saying. Better to have it and not use it, than need it and not have it.

I bought a cheap HF Pittsburgh for $25???
1/2" drive 150ft lbs
I got a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter.

Is mostly for tires (140 ft lbs) and when I replaced shocks (14 ft lbs?) and spark plugs (11 ft lbs?).

I have NO IDEA how it performs.

I am a bad man and I live dangerously.
