Unhappy ticking noise and no power under 2500 to 3500 rpm

I have a 2004 f150 new body stile with 101000 a ticking noise and loss of power under 2500 to 3000 rpm. the ticking noise sounds like it is coming from the transmission but could also be coming from the valve train but when I put my head under the truck it relay sounds like it is coming from the transmission. I had the transmission fluid changed at 81000 miles and goes to the shop every 5000 miles for a rotate and balance and a alignment check and supposedly a courtesy check were they check all the fluids. I checked the transmission fluid today cold and running and it was all ready over the top of the dipstick check point so it so it has been over full for about 14000 miles I am going to the shop tomorrow to raise some hell on that. I have tried to unplug the vct solenoid to see if the taping goes away and I also drove it a short distance to see if any power came back. The power did not come back and the taping was still there so I plug them back in. I use 5 20 valvoline full synthetic oil and the Lucas full synthetic oil treatment and change it every 5000 miles. I got the truck with 71000 miles and no tick the tick has gotten worse with each oil change. with this last oil change I put seafoam in the oil to try and do a flush and it has been about 500 miles since and no color change to the oil. the funny thing is when I floor it and it hits above 2500 to 3000 rpm it is like a turbo kicks in and it has all the power I want. but if I turn on the ac it feels like I am towing 7 tons and will hardly go anywhere. I have heard about the cam phasers and the noise they can make but it will not relay affect anything. I am to the point I am getting worried to drive it any body have any ideas?

well I found out what was my noise was it was not the cam phaser or any lifters it was a rocker arm and last night it broke and dropped a valve so now new motor time not a happy camber the truck only has 100200 miles lost a some faith in ford trucks and I am a die hard ford truck man.

Probably should have stopped driving it when the ticking started. Would have saved a couple grand. Hindsight is 20/20 though
