well I went to go climb a hill in my 97 expedition and the 4 wheel drive wouldnt work it. so I tried switching it over a few times and only got the
Allwheel drive light to switch on then sitting nutrel I tryed 4 low it went in
now it wont come out I tryed manualy as well as checking relays becuse it somes like a clicking in the dash when I try to switch it back down.and only the all wheel drive light will come on. thanks for the help

 

Obviously, being a 97 you have used it before. But just in case or new to the vehicle, shift to neutral, to relax the torque and see what happens.

 

i heard once theyr stuck in 4low its very hard to get out .buddy did that and had to replace 4x4 shifter motor thing was expencive but was a few years ago ??????

 

just mess with it revers nutral. try 4high not 2high because i noticed it needs to go 4high first (sometimes) just try something bbut might need to be replaced once you goto 4low with out being in nutral is bad
