Default starting conundrum

Hey y'all,

I have an issue with my '03 F-150 6.2L...a very intermittent starting issue.
It's done it twice on me now, once on Good Friday and then last night.
It'll turn over but won't start. then if I let it sit for awhile it'll start right up no issues. Took it to a garage but it wouldn't not start for them so they said there was nothing they could do for me. Thought maybe a problem with the fuel system somewhere but it seems odd that both times it was sitting for 8+ hours then wouldn't start but after sitting for an hour or so it starts.
I'm at a loss.
Has anyone had similar experience or maybe an idea of what it might be?
Any ideas welcome.
Thanks

the only help I can give is empathy. I have a similar issue with my '03 F150 4.2L V6. it's been going on for months...this intermittent running issue: sometimes it starts and runs fine all day, some days it starts and runs ..then cuts off in a few seconds repeatedly. Later that day it might start. Recently I have replaced the starter solenoid, fuel pump, fuel filter, FP Relay, PCM relay. Thought I had a ground issue as humidity might be the culprit. Today I disconnected the neg batt...and something reset, because it started right up and ran. Go figure! So I have two questions for the forum: How do I check all the ground wires? What does the batt reset that might explain this conundrum? OH, I borrowed a NOID light and no pulse to the injectors when this occurs...my advice??? Look for the simple fix!!and when you find it...let me know!

I had the same issue with my 2002, try moving your tilt wheel up and down several times, and see if it starts. I found that there is a loose connection in the steering column, for the longest time, my cruise control would not work, but I found with the wheel all the way up, it works fine, so check your wiring in the steering column

Thanks for responding!!! I'll try that! The issue is in the vicinity of the cluster for sure...some have suggested the theft module is faulty, but I think it is detecting a short or bad ground, etc..

UH..I'm not sure my steering wheel moves come to think of it...it's an XL not an XLT. Will give it a try when I get home. Thank God for motorcycles!!

All of the issues above could relate to the Anti-Theft circuit. Sometimes it's the key w/chip that's faulty or the RAP (remote aux. power) control module located in the passenger's foot well, kick panel has issues.
