Default Single front rotor replacement?

Hey guys

I have a 2016 with 157,000 miles mostly highway as this is the first brake job. The problem is the passenger front rotor is grooved.

Since theres not much wear, do I need to replace both?

always replace in pairs.. with 157K miles it’s due for sure... don’t skimp on brakes..

Definitely change both at the same time, or after a while you will notice that one side may grab a little more than the other.
If you replace one rotor, the type of metal will always be just a bit different than the other, so the pads may grip it more or less than the other.
So you should always replace both at the same time so that they are made exactly the same and made of exactly the same type of metal.

Thanks for the input!

I would like to get the EBC Rotors and redstuff pads but that looking like $335

The coated PowerStop rotors and ceramic pads are looking good and only $212 on Amazon for 2 discs and 2 sets of pads

StopTech has a some nice sets, one stoptech branded with cross drilled and slotted rotors($312), and the other with their lower end brand that are solid ($280)

Any thoughts on how i should spend my $$

MotorCraft rotors & pads.

But MEASURE the current rotors first. If they can be resurfaced, there's no reason to replace them right now. The minimum thickness spec. is usually cast into the rotors. Measure at the deepest grooves.

If you're not going to be doing a lot of heavy towing, I would go with the Powerstop kit. Ceramic pads are quieter, give less dust, and less heat.

Just talked to my local NAPA, they want $50 to turn 2 rotors, if i buy the powerstop pads at $60 im saving $100.

I guess to me for that price difference, ill forgo the hassle of turning the rotors and just buy new ones.

I will hang on to these and maybe turn them in the future

thank you all so much for the information and helping me walk through this decision!
