Default a shock ?

I have a back shock (pro comp es9000) that is leaking oil. It is about 3 or 4 years old. I was wondering if i should just replace it, or if i should go with both back ones new? $40 each, not a big deal to replace both but if I dont need to i could always spend it somewhere else.

How many miles? 4 years is a short life span for shocks...

there is only about 17000 miles one the truck and the lift was on it when i bought it. i would think it would last more than that, but doubt it has any kind of warranty being that old. i dont notice any difference when i drive, the only thing is that the shock is covered in oil and there is drip marks underneath it. the shock is the only thing that is oily. i was just curious if i should go with one or both.
